Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, at Woodland Hills California. The mother of the child was home as a mother. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick was a talented artist and singer from a young age. She show puppet shows for the neighbors. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted being contacted by talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she would like to work in show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a major actress in the year 1964. She was featured in a commercial for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the leading character on Wind It Up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had a blended-family. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run on the program. The actress was sixteen years old and the actor was 19 at that time. She said but the timing was never right for us.
